Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 is Coming!

Its been a while since I was excited about a game. Tony Hawks got me into extreme sports in the first place. I started aggressive Rollerblading because I fell in love with the whole culture, thanks to this game. I own almost every game in the series on multi consoles. I even own the tony hawk shred which I just got. The 5th game was horrible; hence why I didn’t bother to get it just yet.

Out of nowhere, my brother messages me the picture of a new Tony Hawk remastered game! I could not believe it! Yes, we had a remaster of the first two games before. Tony Hawk’s 2 X and Tony Hawk’s HD were great, but this should be on another level!

The game is only $39.99 for the regular edition and $170 for the collector’s pack. The later comes with the limited edition Deck, which is a great item to own for skaters. I will go for the regular Xbox one as I don’t feel like dropping a lot of cash on something I will not necessarily use, especially in these times. Maybe I will find it used on eBay down the line.

The game will be dropping on September 4. I already preordered two copies. Great times ahead. I may even replay and 100% Underground 2 while waiting.

A new Tony Hawk game is at work

TonyHawkHDArtGood news skaters and THPS fans; the man Tony himself twitted that he is working on another game with Activision. He also confirmed that the upcoming mobile game Shred Session was put on hold in order to fully concentrate on the next big project. Its about time if you ask me. As a big time Tony Hawk Pro Skater series fan I find this news exciting considering we haven’t good a proper game since American Wasteland and arguably Proving Ground.

Tony Hawk Pro Skater was always about insane yet fun tricks with new things in every new game until motion came and broke the series. Here is the THPS games chart:

As you can see, its been sometime since we last played a proper TH game. I just hope that Activision gets it right with all the next Gen power available. I want a fun open city world with missions ranging from bigger to sick with folks walking around and possibly real traffic. What I don’t want however is a Skate Clone. As much as Skating is fun in real life -I do aggressive inline- the game should at least have some kind of insanity.

I agree doing crazy and stupid stuff all the time breaks the game but what I mean is balance. American Wasteland in my opinion combined both. Some would argue that THPS 4 was the last real Tony game but I disagree. While THPS 4 was keep the series in the same zone as the first three games, Underground 2 took it further with new rides and missions. Underground one was good, but the lack of a good story and gameplay made it an ok game. Still better than the later ports.

I am very excited and awaiting further details as they come.

Daily Pickups: Tony Hawk’s American Wasteland Collector’s Edition Ps2

thaw

Managed to hunt down this gem, well not that rare but I always wanted the limited edition tony hawk game. Been looking for this for a while and finally decided to grab it. As per wiki description; this game fixes a few glitches found in the normal edition and add a few extra characters and possibly a map. Will need to grab video converter box for PS2 games to display correctly on HD television and I am ready to roll.
