I had a dream…

I had a dream, a Resident Evil dream. That’s right folks, I was dreaming of playing the original GameCube BioHazard 0 version and by God, I will do it in real life. Better yet, I will record and upload the play through on my YouTube channel.

I’m not stranger to video games dreams although I don’t game as much as I used to due to work and life in general but my love and passion stay the same. For some reason this dream made me want to relive the memories again. I have previously played and completed my English versions so I placed an order for the Japanese editions which by the way look way cooler than the English covers.

I will most likely play them on Dolphin emulator as I heard nothing but good things about it even though I’m yet to install it. Never the less I’m excited to relive the experience as I haven’t touched GameCube games for some time.

I’m still deciding whether or not I should stream or simply record it so subscribe to my YouTube channel and follow me on twitter as I post my updates as soon as they go live. Take care for now.

Recent eBay orders

ebay_logo_detail

So it’s been a few months as I took an unwanted break from blogging and writing as a whole. The reason, of course, is me being busy with YouTube as I fine tuned the channel’s intro and overall quality. Never the less, writing and blogging is something I always enjoyed since a young age and will continue to do so. I’m also deciding my next game to write a guide on at GameFAQs so that should keep me busy. Oh and I managed to clear some of my backlog games and on a strict mission to clear as much as possible before purchasing anything else.

Speaking about orders, let me share my recent purchases off eBay. I will be doing a video about what’s on my eBay watch list soon so make sure to subscribe to my channel to catch the video as soon as it goes live. So here goes:

Sonic Adventure International – SEGA Dreamcast

sonic_adventure_international

Sonic Adventure International is an updated version of the original game. Due to the limited test time, the Japanese versions ended up with a few bugs. SEGA later re-released an updated version titled International which has both Japanese and English voice acting as well as new cameras. Most of the bugs were fixed as well. Being a die hard retro SEGA fan, I was happy to grab this off eBay.

MZS Blue Pivot Brake Clutch Levers For Kawasaki KX250 2005-2008

bike_part

Now I have no idea what this part does or how important it is as its this was never meant for me. A part of many I ordered for my brother’s bike. Not gonna lie though, it looks sick!

Sega Saturn Street Fighter collection trial version

street_fighter_demo

I have always been fascinated with Demo and Trial versions. They are after all a dying breed. Physical Demos are a thing of the past. Street Fighter, Sega Saturn and Demo? A must have.

Classic Mario Amiibo

classic_mario

I always wanted a huge action figure collection to display on shelves. The problem is, most are overpriced. So I thought until Amiibos were released. This is the third one I ordered as its out of stock locally. Soon I will hopefully set them up to give the gaming office a brighter feel. Check out the pickup video I did:

Street Fighter 2 Movie – Sega Saturn

street_fighter_2_the_interactive_movie

The most interesting item so far. This is supposed to be a Sega Saturn version of the Street Fighter 2 movie. The thing is, as shown on the back of the CD case; there is a gameplay image meaning there is more to do. I will test this out once I order the 1080p upscaler to properly play my retro games on my BenQ Monitor.

So there you have it folks. Those were my top 5 recent purchases even though I have tones more wichih I may do another post about. Hope you enjoyed reading this blog and I will catch you in my next article. Checkout my YouTube channel for more content as well as my Twitter and other social media.

Games take too much space

spacehdIt is the year 2014, video games has grown to the point that a single game install can take up to 50 GB+ let alone day one patch of 20 GB. This is becoming an issue to a growing number of gamers as hard disk space is something to be considered very seriously. Fast internet to download monthly patches is a luxury many don’t have including myself.

Now I know that games are getting bigger and more space is used by all the HD stuff and what not but I’m sure that sure that developers, if worked hard could come up with a way to optimize and compress the content without noticeably effecting the quality. We are doing this to video files since I don’t know when using Handbrake or other software so whats the problem with games? Compress the videos and music but give me a smaller  install requirement any day. Allow the option of selecting the install type and video/music quality to save disk space.

The other thing is the day one 1GB patch thing; take your time developing and optimizing. I understand that bugs are found after release but not this much. Assassin’s Creed Unity had over 300 bugs that are being fixed with patches, don’t tell Uobisoft did not know about that.

The simple fact is developers are rushing the games out half finished with hopes of fixing them along the line and that is something I hate! I can wait an extra month or two so please take your time and optimize. Gone are the days where developers had to figure of the PlayStation one and Sega Saturn to take a full advantage and release an optimized version and there were no patches back then. Now its all about money and quick yearly releases with little to no effort put in.

I really hope that future games become less space demanding and fully playable day one. Is that so much to ask?

Amazing Batman Suits from across the web

Batman_logoLets face it, everybody loves Batman. I grew up in the 90s and to this day fail to find a single hater. Batman was done and redone in all sort of stuff ranging from movies to games and everything in between. As years go by, Batman change. Today I will be posting my favorite Bat suits from across the web. Keep in mind; I don’t own the pictures, I just post them. No copyright infringement intended. Links to image’s source included.

Now that we set the record straight lets move on to the suits them self.

The Evil looking Batman is a skin for the Batman Arkham games if I’m not mistaken. What I like about it is the way it was detailed. Everything looks real and kinda technical. The Evil eyes and mouth also add to the overall scare. I cant imagine this suit on a good Batman, only the Evil version.

batman_and_robinThe Batman and Robin suit. I don’t know about you but this suit has the 90s written all over it. A mix with the white gives it some beauty in my book. Not many would agree as Batman and Robin was regarded as one of the worst movies of all time. I don’t remember it being that bad but then again its probably for the best.

batman_arkham_originshttp://batman.wikia.com/wiki/Batman:_Arkham_Origins

Even though Arkham Origins was a quick game and nowhere near the quality of Arkham City, the game managed to score an awesome bat suit. A present day Batman Suit, whats not to like?

darkh_knight

Another Batman Movie suit? The Dark Knight easily ended up being one of my faivorte and realist looking for that matter. A well done suit and a well done movie which I first hated but learned to love and respect.

arkhamknight

Wait a minute, that’s NOT Batman! I know but it being shaped as the Bat makes it a bat suit. For the ones that don’t know, this is actually the evil batman villain in the upcoming Batman game Arkham Knight. The techno evil shaped suit takes the cake in this post. The perfect combine of clors, material and technical feel makes it the top of this list.

What do you think?

Grand Theft Auto V PC version is getting 4K + First Person

GTAVOn January 27, 2015 Grand Theft Auto V will finally be released on the PC with sweet improvements proving once again that PC version of any game will most likely be the superior version.

While many of you already saw GTA First Person mod before, this time it will be totally different as Rockstar will be remodeling the vehicles  and some other things to fit with the new FPM. Did I mention that the gloriouse graphics and beautiful city will be in 4K?

Now lets not get carried away with the above features just yet, in addition to the above along with other enhancements namely the draw distance there is one important feature unmarketed, can you guess it? Mods!

For the ones that don’t know, GTA’s online mode was started as a mod and even argued that it is better than the actual online made by Rockstar games. Lets not forget the downloadable cars and skins for the players. A community like not other, just look at GTA Vice City which is enjoyed to this day with custom content free by the loyal moders.

Even though the game is kinda old and over played on the last gen consoles, I for one am happy that I will be picking this up and enjoying it the way it meant to be played. My only concern is optimization. I just hope that Rockstar will deliver a better job than GTA4 which was poorly optimized with problems despite coming out late. Other than that I feel great that this game got the announced features and most importantly coming to PC where it all started.

This is a smart move on Rockstar’s part; Remaster a great last gen game while working on the proper next one. I understand that some will argue that it is too soon to remaster GTA5 and instead we should have got a truly next gen version. You are correct and I agree on remastering last gen games but this one gets a free pass. Not only was this one of the greatest GTA games, some of us -like me- did not get the chance to play it so why not pick the enhanced version on the next gen consoles and PC? Im impressed that they added official 4k support as 4k is yet to be mainstream but for the dedicated hardcore PC gamers this is a great feature.

Looking forward to playing this for the first time in its ultimate version soon.

The Walking Dead Season 5 ep1 Review

The Walking Dead

The Walking Dead is king of zombie movies, no question asked but the show got little repetitive for me and I started to lose hope. Season 5 brought back danger, action and with it mayhem, but was it good enough? For starters I would like to point the obvious spoiler alert. Now, The Walking Dead was always about danger from Zombies AND Humans alike picturing a perfect post apocalypses world where everything and everyone is trying to kill you. I was happy when The boring and annoying Governor finally got killed, although I wasn’t happy with the person who killed him or how he was killed but that’s another topic.

Any way, when the prison was overrun and they got nowhere to go, I go excited that we will now move forward instead of the same thing over and over. When the guy with the supposed cure showed up, I got even more excited as I was looking forward for a twist. The final thing that got me nervous was the Terminus, an evil looking place. Season 5 came and with it Terminus only to be a generic, quick story with little to no emotion. Now that the place is destroyed which happened too fast if you ask me, that leaves me with another thing to worry about; Governor 2.0.

Dear God, please don’t let this be the same stuff again, the surviving boss of the Terminus will reform and hunt down the survives. Rick said that he will finish off the reaming of the gang but I’m still not sure if he will actually do it or is it just for the sake of drama.

Dont get me wrong, the action was good and I’m glad the group is back together but I’m expecting new and creative storytelling this time around. I want them to get to Washington DC and actually manage to find the cure. Applying it is a different story and a new adventure.

the walking dead season 5

Another thing that I wish would happen but highly unlikely is: A boss. A Resident Evil nemesis like boss. This can only happen if the story is shifted to a company creating a virus that infects people for military use but seeing how the current story is going this is highly unlikely. The Walking Dead is trying to stay as realistic as possible and I understand that but it is a Zombie show and things need to happen. If you want a realistic post apocalypse movie, go watch The Road. Back to my main point; We are now at Season 5, meaning at least half way to the end assuming it will get 10 seasons. Up to this point, there were no -in my opinion- ground breaking shocking moment and the show feels like its going nowhere at times.

I’m no script writer or movie director although I directed home made movies and edited allot of my Skating clips but as a fan and zombie/science geek I cant help but feel more can be achieved. I also think that the show should start getting more aggressive like the comic. Yes I haven’t read them all but from what I did the deaths and general story feels more aggressive although I could be just imagining things if that makes scenes.

I know we are just at the start of the season but future episodes should be just as action and story orientated as the first one. No more meaningless episodes until the final one aka season 3. Rant and hopes aside, The Walking Dead is an overall well done show and I really enjoyed it and will continue to watch it although in my opinion, Lost is still the greatest show ever made minus the stupid ending.

Any way, let me know what you think..

Thanks

Resident Evil remastered Asian version

resident-evil-hd-

Good new, Resident Evil (Biohazard) remastered now comes in Asian version. This version offers Japanese as well as English subs and text so it is the best DVD version you may want to get. I already know the game but reading text in English feels better in my opinion. Preorder from PlayAsian.com

The Evil Within Pre-order

Yes, this will be the 2nd game I have ever preordered followed by Batman Arkham Knight. The director Shinji Mikami, responsible for the original Resident Evils promises amazing horror experience and from the game play footage it looks like we will be getting a Silent Hill meets Resident Evil game which is amazing and nothing less.

I admit I did not know anything about this game until a friend showed me the gameplay, I immediately fell in love with it and will be preordering it as soon as my paycheck arrives. For $59.95 & FREE Shipping you will be getting the free DLC:

Pre-order The Evil Within and receive the Fighting Chance Pack. The pack includes a medical kit, green gel used to upgrade Sebastian’s attributes, a double barrel shotgun with three shells useful for tight situations with multiple encroaching enemies, an incendiary agony bolt capable of showering nearby enemies with damaging fire sparks and a poison agony bolt which draws enemies towards it and poisons them. Offer valid when shipped and sold by Amazon.com. Amazon reserves the right to change or terminate this promotion at any time.

I will be getting the game on PC but the game is available on almost everything. Get it now from Amazon.

Resident Evil Remastered and why does it matter

rem5Resident Evil was and still is big, no one can deny it. However, things have changed since the the fourth installment was introduced and kept going in the new direction all while facing decline. What ever true Resident Evil fan was asking for is simple; A survive horror game with zombies.

Capcom however had something else in mind ignoring the fan base and kept on pushing the copo action game. All was lost until Resident Evil Remastered was announced. Not only did this news brought joy to my heart along with most if not all Resident Evil fans, it sparked hope that the game will finally be heading back to its roots.

After the polished version of Resident Evil 4 hit Steam as Resident Evil 4 Ultimate HD edition, I must say I’m looking forward to the PC version as it will most likely be the ultimate version due to the obvious reasons. Strangely enough Wii U is not included in the list but I am sure that it will make the list sometime soon. The Xbox 360 and PS4 will be 720p while the rest is 1080p but that’s hardly a deal breaker for anyone.

Resident Evil RemasteredSeen Resident Evil Remake Remastered in HD in its full glory is the biggest eye candy I have ever seen. I’m not saying the game has the best graphics or engine, what I am saying is that as an old school Resident Evil fan; it is the best HD remake that I can ever ask for.

From http://cramgaming.com/
From http://cramgaming.com/

The benefits that will make this a must own and better than the original GameCube Remake:

  • Better Controller
  • Best possible Graphics and resolution
  • Accessible to everyone on all platforms
  • New Camera
  • Better Sound
  • Achievements

and hopefully few other things like online Rankings.

The other thing I want to stress on is that should this game sell which I am sure it will; Capcom will hopefully seriously consider remaking Resident Evil 2,3 and Code Veronica as a proper Resident Evil 1 remake and make them available to all considering they will not spend on packing as it will be digital release only.

Lets hope and wait for more news on this important and great announcement.
