Resident Evil 7 goes old school?

re7The supposed Resident Evil 7 image is out on the internet. It worms my heart to see the reunion of the originals as it bring back amazing memories of the amazing Resident Evil one. Remembering the golden era of the video games as well as my own memories of playing this gem.

The word is; Resident Evil 7 will be the final part of the series as its been stretched far enough. I don’t know how to react as part of me agrees that Resident Evil reached its final life part with all the failures after 3. Another part will miss new Resident Evils and will always wish for more.

Resident Evil is still my favorite horror and possible all time greatest (Resident Evil one) so letting go will not be that easy. Any way, lets hope for the best and celebrate once news is out.

Resident Evil 6 first impression

Starting this post with a fact that I am the biggest Resident Evil fan there is. I own most of the Resident Evil games on multi platforms and still hunt the remaining ones on eBay and local sellers. With that out of the way, lets get into my first impression after playing Resident Evil 6 on Xbox 360.

re6Growing up with Resident Evil 1 and on made me love the franchise more and more until part 4 and 5. It is when the formula totally changed and the game became something else with the Resident Evil name. I started Resident Evil 6 playing as Chris; the old school Resident Evil 1 hero who started taking steroids from RE5 and onward.

The controls felt broken and un resident evil like although I got used to them in 30 minutes. The new inventory system is confusing and time consuming. Why couldn’t they keep the RE 5 inventory system is beyond me.

The first chapter was not that great to begin with as it seemed very repetitive and boring. As I finished it and moved on to the second, things started to change for the better. I am now more familiarized with the system and the enlivenment but the thing is, I cant but feel that I am playing a 3rd person Call of duty game. The squad command is not helping either. Resident Evil was always about 1 guy getting into trouble in a no man zone. Running around a group of solders is not Resident Evil.

Never the less, I am enjoy so far and my brother who has completed the game is saying that things will get better. Hoping for the best. Out.

Latest Pickups: Resident Evil 3

Who here did not play any Resident Evil game? Apparently me? Joking. I played it back at the day but never owned the american NTSC version. As an old school Resident Evil fan this order is very late as I should have ordered this years ago. Well, guess better late than never.

The Dino Crisis Demo disk is the icing on the cake.

Greatest Gaming Remakes

New doesn’t always mean better, but the bellows have managed to break this rule.

Resident Evil Remake

First released in 1996, Resident Evil quickly became the top dog in the survivor horror scene. It was until 2002 that fans hoped for the original to be remade and Capcom didn’t disappoint. The game was released on Nintendo GameCube with remade graphics, sound and more story as well as new areas such as the forest. A must play and own for any horror fan, let alone Resident Evil fan.

The game was also ported to Nintendo Wii adding nothing but appears to be little cheaper new days.

Metal Gear Twin Snakes

Holds a second place after Resident Evil Remake but still stands out. This was also released for the GameCube and remained exclusive without any further ports. The game adds very little in terms of areas and actually downgrades the sound track. However, new moves can now be used such as hanging to add some level of new and the graphics along with gameplay smoothness makes this remake standout.

Tony Hawk’s 2X

2X enhances the graphics and smoothest the gameplay adding new levels as well.  It’s not heavily remade as the rest but still brings something to the table. A must get for Tony Hawk’s fans. The game is Xbox exclusive and works on Xbox 360 with minor glitches.
